Welcome to my site. It started as a site dedicated to finding ex apprentices who started at Farnborough in 1977. If you want to see that section click on the 1977 RAE Apprentices link on the left. That section includes a photograph of all the apprentices who started in September 1977 with a table below of all the ones who have been identified. Take a look and let me know if you recognise anyone. Since starting this there have been a couple of reunions organised by the RAE Apprentices Association. Ken Bird has also arranged a couple of smaller year specific reunions. Hopefully we will have a few more. If you register here I will try to let you know of any more. If you have some photographs of your own that you woould like to share with us you may do so in the gallery section. It would be good to see some.

The site has now expanded a little to include some personal projects of my own. As time allows I will add a few more.

Curry Night

On 14th October 2010 a few ex apprentices attended a curry house in Wokingham for a little get together. This came abut after Ken Bird decided to get a few old colleagues together for old times sake. It seems to me that most of the time was spent reminiscing about practical jokesandall kinds of misdemeanors that were carried out as apprentices. The people who attended were Andy Warren, CD Allen, Ken Bird, Simon Wilson, Martin Sloane,
Robin Beck, Clive Rayfield, Geraint Owens and myself.

I think we all had a good night and I think there were several requests to have the next get together in a hotel somewhere, so we can all have a drink.

Here it is. Welcome to my new website for the 1977 intake year of RAE Apprentices. Hopefully as time goes on I will add some more features, time willing. For now you can see the photograph of the apprentices taken on the first day of work. Below that is the list of all those identified so far. This is almost the same as the old site. To see it click on "Who are we" on the left hand side.

There is a facility to view some photographs. If I can I will also add the facility to upload some yourself and maybe add some extra categories. - DONE

I will try to get the list of the second intake for that year added at some point. They didnt start at RAE until the November of that year whereas the photograph was taken in the September. - DONE
